Dcs Simulation Program

Overview:

This course covers all major systems, auxiliary systems, equipment, plant controls, and logic (interlocks).  Major systems covered include condensate, feed water, steam generator, fuel, air, flue gas, turbine, and electrical generator.  The auxiliary systems covered are soot blowers, turbine gland steam, turbine lube oil and cooling, generator hydrogen and cooling, hydrogen seal oil, and stator cooling. 

The course includes hands-on training with a PC based, full scope simulator (laptop required).  The Simulator is based on a Reference Plant of 210 MW capacity, with an emulated DCS system.  Simulator training includes startup from cold condition to full load operation, load modulation, shutdown from full load to cold condition, and major upsets.  The major upsets include turbine trip, feedwater pump trip, forced draft fan trip, induced draft fan trip, coal pulverize trip, waterwalls leak, feedwater heater tube leak, and condenser leak.
